Nowadays, many households install wooden flooring on the floor to make the whole house more stylish and upscale. However, maintenance of wooden flooring is also quite troublesome. So let's learn about the maintenance methods of these 8 types of flooring. Only by maintaining wooden flooring well can the service life of the flooring be longer. Let's learn together!

1. Maintain laminated flooring

The laminated boards on the market now may resemble hardwood boards or natural stone bricks, but you still need to treat them as laminated boards. The advantage of this type of flooring is that few things will damage the composite flooring. After all, wooden boards are built in environments with sun and light protection layers, and they need to maintain their appearance as new for many years. What we need to do is to prevent water from entering under the wooden board. The editor suggests using a dry mop or vacuum cleaner to clean the floor, ensuring that the machine is in tile mode (not carpet), so the mixing rod will rise. Use a slightly damp mop (or wet Swiffer) for cleaning. Editor's suggestion: Never polish composite flooring. If the surface of the wooden board appears damaged, replace it.

2. Maintain cork flooring

The characteristic of this natural material is its porosity, which makes it very susceptible to water damage. Because it has strong water absorption, most cork flooring is sealed, but you still need to be cautious when cleaning. Usually, a vacuum cleaner is needed to prevent scratches, and the cork flooring needs to be cleaned once a week. Xiaobian suggests not to use commercial cleaning products. We can simply prepare vinegar and soap water solutions at home. Put 1/4 cup of vinegar into a spray bottle, add 1 drop of detergent and a little warm water. When used together with soap, natural acidic vinegar can decompose dirt, reduce dust accumulation, and have a disinfectant effect. Remember! Do not shake the solution vigorously (this will produce foam), just gently shake it back and forth in the spray bottle. Spray a portion of the area at once, then wipe dry with a damp microfiber mop.

3. Maintain solid wood flooring

Solid wood flooring, also known as hardwood flooring, is commonly available in the market with two types of finishes: polyurethane or wax. I'm not sure which one you use at home? The editor suggests rubbing the surface with your fingers. If there are stains, the floor may be waxed.

Most wooden floors typically have polyurethane, although polyurethane or polyacrylic acid coatings are also available. Their function is to protect them from stains and water damage. We only need to mix 1/4 cup of mild pH neutral soapy water (try the seventh generation multi-purpose natural cleaner concentrate) with bottled water for daily cleaning. (Avoid acidic vinegar solution, as it can make the wooden floor dull and dull over time.) Then use a wet mop (make sure the mop is wrung dry), and wipe off excess moisture with a dry microfiber cloth. Clean frequently accessed areas such as the kitchen once a week; For areas with less traffic, delay once a month.

4. Maintain bamboo flooring

Bamboo is sustainable, healthy and environmentally friendly. Compared to the two types of wooden flooring above, it is softer and more prone to scratches accidentally. Unless you are using steel wire bamboo flooring, a hard and durable type of bamboo flooring. Be extra cautious when regularly cleaning dirt and debris dust. The method is the same as above, remember to use a slightly damp mop to drag back and forth on the floor, and use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe off excess moisture.

5. Maintain the oil felt floor

Oil felt is made from flaxseed oil, resin, limestone, wood fibers, and cork powder, and colored with mineral pigments. Treat this elastic natural floor like cork. I suggest mixing a few drops of dishwashing detergent with hot water during daily cleaning, spraying the floor at once, and then wiping it back and forth with a wet microfiber mop. The floor should be kept ventilated to ensure immediate natural air drying, but if it still feels a bit sticky when touched, simply use another clean and moist microfiber cloth to wipe off a portion of the area.

6. Maintain vinyl flooring

Vinyl flooring should be cleaned and maintained weekly. Vinyl flooring has a relatively high hardness, and the maintenance method is to gently mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1 drop of dishwashing detergent and warm water. Spray one part at a time, then wipe with a wet microfiber mop. For regular deep cleaning, steam cleaner can be used to clean tiles and cement slurry. Steam can remove stains and bacteria.

7. Maintain natural stone flooring

We know that even small amounts of acidic liquids can damage stone flooring, as well as bleach and ammonia. So we need to use pH neutral non chelating cleaning agents to maintain stone flooring, which will not have adverse effects on natural surface minerals. Daily cleaning only requires the use of ultra-fine fiber mops and hot water mops; Remember that chemicals can seep into rocks. For stubborn dirt, please use steam cleaner.

8. Maintain ceramic tile flooring

The method is the same as natural stone flooring.

The above is all the content of the floor maintenance methods analyzed by the editor today, hoping to help everyone.
